Pete Rose has officially been taken off MLB’s permanently ineligible list. Baseball’s all-time hits leader was banned in 1989 after an investigation revealed that the longtime star had placed bets while playing for and managing the Cincinnati Reds. The decision makes Rose, who died at 83, eligible to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
