Everyday items are already more expensive — here’s what to expect next.

TRAE BODGE: We’re starting to see just the very beginning of this with things like perishables, some foods, some flowers that are imported. But really, we have a little bit of runway before we’ll start seeing the real impact, because a lot of that merchandise is coming in from overseas. Now, you may have heard that we’re seeing fewer ships coming into the US that could cause shortages for, for example, back to school shopping or potentially even holiday toy shopping. So consumers should be aware that we might see some shortages, empty shelves and then higher prices on top of that.
