Nintendo predicted how many it would sell this year.
Transcript:
With just a month to go before the release of its highly-anticipated Switch 2, Nintendo is projecting just how many consoles it will sell. The company said it expects to deliver 15 million consoles by the end of its fiscal year, which ends in March 2026.
The Switch 2 goes on sale on June 5 and will cost $450 and the console comes with a bigger screen and bigger controllers. And, in most cases, it will be backward compatible with older games.
The console will launch with one game, “Mario Kart World,” as well as “Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour,” which offers an in-depth view of the new console.
Nintendo is hoping to build on the runaway success of the original Switch, which launched in 2017 as both a handheld and console device. Since then it has gone on to become Nintendo’s second-biggest selling console with more than 150 million units sold. It trails only the Nintendo DS.
