I follow a Top-Down / Bottom-Up approach. Where I use statistical analysis on macroeconomic data to identify the best performing economies around the globe. Then a Bottom-up approach to evaluate, from the company’s perspective, how the current market conditions would be beneficial for them. Starting from a country whose currency would likely appreciate, with the current market sentiment and conditions. Next, I identify the most promising sectors and forecast which ones are likely to outperform over a two to six months period. Then I look for quality. Companies with consistent results and showing good overall momentum. With some stocks selected, I evaluate their competitive advantages against one another, then I look for their financials, to confirm what I was expecting and perform a valuation of the business, after removing the non-recurring items.
