PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta will have to quickly hit the ground running.
The incoming replacement for CEO Indra Nooyi, who said Monday she will step aside on Oct. 3, must solve a host of challenges early on. Laguarta will have to decide whether to re-franchise the company’s bottling operations and streamline the workforce. He must also find a way to ignite sales of diet soda, which has lost market share to rival Coca-Cola.
