Speaking to NBC News in Khan Younis, human rights official Khalil Abu Shamala said all Palestinians would welcome a pause in hostilities to find out if loved ones were alive or dead, but insisted a longer-term solution was needed. “We don’t hope just for a cease-fire for a few days,” he said.
