Former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-Ark.), a Baptist minister, showed the political strength of the evangelical base when he carried the Iowa caucuses in 2008. But just days before, he told Meet the Press he wasn’t sure he would win. “If we do, you’re going to have a political story like you’ve never had coming out of Iowa,” Huckabee added.
