An 11-year-old boy has died and five more people have been injured after a shooting in the West End on Friday night, according to Cincinnati police.According to Cincinnati police chief Terri Theetge, the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. near Jones Street and Wade Street.When officers arrived on the scene, they located multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.One victim died in the shooting and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified him as an 11-year-old boy.According to Theetge, multiple juveniles were shot. Their ages and identities are not known at this time. According to Cincinnati Children’s, the hospital is currently caring for three patients suffering from gunshot wounds on Friday night. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries. According to police, two victims were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. “Absolutely unacceptable in our city, that on a Friday night six people were shot in one incident,” Theetge said.Theetge said they have no suspect information to release at this time and there’s no indication on what may have led up to the shooting.Theetge said, however, that there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community.Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval took to social media to share a statement Friday night, saying, “there was a horrific tragedy in the West End. Children were shot. At least one life was lost. Our friends and neighbors are feeling unimaginable fear, trauma, and anger.”
