Rob Heitz grew up swimming until one day he mistakenly dove into shallow water and was paralyzed from the chest down. Slowly, he recovered and was able to move again. Inspired by his strength, Heitz’s friends came up with an idea for him – to swim from Alcatraz. NBC News’ Jacob Ward shares his story.
