Ukrainian fighters are advancing through Lyman, taking back land occupied by Russian troops for months. Though Ukrainian officials won’t share specifics, they say troops are freeing villages in the east and delivering desperately needed food and water to some areas. Tonight, leaders of nine European NATO countries issued a joint statement supporting Ukraine’s request for accelerated membership, but admission requires the approval of all 30 members.
