A pesky front and developing area of low pressure keep the rain chances going today and tonight. Some storms could produce periods of heavier rain and isolated flooding. Showers and storms should be less numerous Monday into Tuesday, but a few remain possible at times, before rain chances rise again late Tuesday into early Wednesday with seasonable temperatures.

Today (Sunday): After some patchy early-morning fog, we’re mostly cloudy this morning with some glimpses of sun possible during the afternoon. On-and-off showers and thunderstorms don’t have as much potential for severe winds and hail as yesterday, but some could produce heavy rain and lightning. Temperatures are somewhat cooler with highs in the low to mid-80s and still rather humid. Confidence: Medium

For the Commanders game, and really any outdoor event today, it’s difficult to pinpoint the timing and location of these types of showers and storms more than a few hours in advance. Be prepared to get wet but hope for the best, and check back for updates.

Tonight: The chance of occasional showers and storms continues into the evening and overnight. Skies remain mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Monday): Partly sunny skies welcome the start of the workweek. Tomorrow night: Shower chances diminish by late evening and overnight, giving way to partly cloudy skies and lows in the mid- to upper 60s. Confidence: Medium

Tuesday should be partly to mostly sunny through much of the day with highs in the mid-80s, but can’t rule out an isolated afternoon shower or storm. Shower and storm chances increase again Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning with an approaching cold front. The clouds and potential rain limit Wednesday highs to the upper 70s and low 80s with a drying trend by afternoon or evening. Confidence: Low-Medium
