The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a technical indicator that uses recent price moves to determine whether a stock is overbought or oversold, aka its “relative strength.” It does this by dividing the average gains over a certain time period by the average losses. Though it’s not perfect, this tool can offer some insight into entry and exit signals.
