Sardar Biglari has been fighting for change at the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain for years, but with strong sales and a rising stock price there’s no reason to hire a new cook. Biglari may have been inspired by Barington Capital, which announced today they would spin off Red Lobster from parent company Darden Restaurants to promote growth of the company’s other brands. The Deal’s Jeff Kanige explains that Darden is a poor example for Biglari since several restaurant companies have performed better after focusing on only one or two brands.
