Investors seeking yield in their retirement portfolios should consider municipal bonds or bond funds after the asset class lost favor last year due to Detroit’s bankruptcy and Puerto Rico’s problems, says Mahoney Asset Management President Ken Mahoney. He also says investors seeking exposure to gold after last year’s big selloff should be patient and leg into the yellow metal over the course of the next 12 months.
