After Tim Russert’s death in 2008, Tom Brokaw took the helm of “Meet the Press” and led the broadcast through the 2008 election season. Before joining the Sunday show, Brokaw co-anchored the TODAY show for five years, anchored “NBC Nightly News” for 21 years and worked in documentaries, creating in-depth pieces on topics like World War II and climate change. In 2021, he retired from NBC News after 55 years with the network.
