Staples Executive Vice President of Global Growth Shira Goodman meets with TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino to discuss the company’s brand relaunch and the key areas of change that have catapulted Staples into the #2 online retail spot, just behind Amazon.com. Over the past year Staples has increased its inventory from 75,000 products to over 400,000 products including new categories such as medical and restaurant supplies. Another major part of the company’s rebranding effort is a focus on leveraging social media and engaging customers online. On the brick-and-mortar front Staples is creating new store formats and fully utilizing its extensive online delivery system.
