“Whiplash” landed a deal with Sony Pictures but for most of the filmmakers at Sundance, securing a national theater engagement is a struggle as Indie audiences gravitate to Video-on-Demand services led by Netflix. The heads of Sundance try their best to remain partial, but filmmakers here in Park City, Utah are already thinking about financing post-Sundance. TheStreet’s Leon Lazaroff reports.
