David Tawil, Co-founder and Portfolio Manager at Maglan Capital, believes a wave of corporate defaults could hit as early as 2016, threatening to cause dramatic economic turmoil. Tawil sees a larger wall of debt maturities than we have ever experienced before between 2016 and 2020, and he expects that about $1.5 trillion in debt could go into default worldwide around that time–triple the amount of defaults we saw in 2008-2009.
