Shares of Campbell Soup are climbing after the company reported fiscal second-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street expectations and profit that jumped 71%. Campbell reported earnings of $1.04 a share, excluding items, up from 70 cents a share in the same period last year. Analysts were expected earnings of 73 cents a share, according to Thomson Reuters. Sales rose 5.5% during the period to $2.28 billion. Campbell saw the biggest sales increase in its global baking and snacking division, where sales jumped 14%.
