Belus Capital Advisor’s Brian Sozzi addresses allegations that Modell’s CEO Mitch Modell went undercover in a Dick’s Sporting Goods to spy on its shipping business model. Sozzi is worried about the disconnect between retail management and store employees growing to the point where workers don’t know upper-level managers. Technology has advanced enough to allow retailers to ship from individual stores, but the cost of this technology is crushing smaller companies like Modell’s, says Sozzi.
