TOTAL S.A. CEO Christophe de Margerie tells TheStreet’s Joe Deaux the company chose not to be in Ukraine because the contractual environment was not strong enough. They are not happy to see what’s going on and hope that it is solved quickly. The Yamal project in Russia is all based on exports in LNG, and says the troubles in Ukraine have no direct impact on the business. TOTAL’s chief says the company is aware of the risks wherever it does business.
