TOTAL S.A. CEO Christophe de Margerie tells TheStreet’s Joe Deaux the company has a strong relationship with its unions in South Africa, where it has started exploration off the southern coast to search for oil or gas. Margerie says the company is familiar with the strikes that occur in the nation, but is confident that its years in the region will avoid troubles. TOTAL’s chief says the company is prepared to handle the difficult conditions of deep water drilling and strong currents.
