Divergent broke away from the box-office pack this weekend bringing in fifty-six million dollars. The debut fell in line with most analysts expectations of seventy million dollars. Though short of Twilight’s 2008 opening at $70 million and The Hunger Games 2012 showing at $153 million, the film is still likely to spawn the next young-adult franchise. Next weekend the Lionsgate/Summit film should cross the $100 million dollar mark, which is about where Lionsgate will start making money.
