Parenting a child isn’t easy for anyone. It’s even harder for stay-at-home mothers unless married to a working husband. 34% of stay-at-home moms are living in poverty compared with only 12% of working mothers. That’s according to a recent Pew survey which found that the number of stay-at-home mothers has increased to 29%. The cause is rising immigration and a downturn in the participation of women in the work force. So what’s the financial solution for the rising number of moms at home?
