Florida’s senators have passed a bill to legalize one strain of cannabis, called Charlotte’s Web, believed to help children with severe epilepsy. The bill will now go to the Florida House of Representatives for approval. If the bill is passed there, it will go on to Governor Rick Scott, who has said he is against medical marijuana. However, he is also concerned that if he doesn’t sign the bill, political opponents will paint him as unsympathetic to sick children. The bill could come to his desk within a month.
