Shares of Telsa are taking a hit despite posting quarterly results which topped Wall Street forecasts. The electric car maker earned 12 cents a share, excluding items, beating estimates by 2 cents. Revenue also beat, coming in at $713 million, beating estimates by $14 million. Tesla produced 7,535 Model S cars in the first quarter but was only able to deliver 6,457 due to the number of cars in transit to Europe and Asia. CEO Elon Musk says 2014 will be another year of “aggressive expansion” for Tesla.
