Low valuations relative to other assets make it a good time to own select emerging market stocks, says Sophia Whitbread, Portfolio Manager for the Dreyfus Global Emerging Markets Fund. Whitbread says the impact of the Fed’s tapering is known and less of a risk. She also says China may be slowing slightly, but the government’s reforms are constructive. Finally, Whitbread says there are lots of positive themes like reforms and elections, and all emerging markets should not be lumped together.
