Trifecta initiated a position in the name based on the stock’s strong dividend yield — which is now at 3.5% — and less-than-typical speculative investment thesis, which leads the Trifecta Stocks team to believe ConocoPhillips could provide the portfolio with some stability. ConocoPhillips is a global oil-and-gas exploration and production company with assets in 19 countries and is among the largest North American shale acreage holders. Ashenberg further explains why he likes the name.
