HealthyWage.com CEO, Jimmy Fleming, says users state how much weight they want to lose and in what timeframe, and HealthyWage pays a proprietary payout, if you achieve the weight loss. Fleming explains the company is different than a NutriSystem or Weight Watchers because HealthyWage is just the motivation piece of the equation, or the emerging science of behavioral economics. A big part of the success is due to the social component and focusing on long-term weight loss and maintenance. Fleming explains HealthyWage keeps a piece of the money taken in via the bets, essentially making the market. HealthyWage has been doubling revenue every year for the last five years, and Fleming sees 2015 as the banner year.
