Frank Perdue should certainly be included in the pantheon of American corporate giants, said Mitzi Perdue, the chicken mogul’s widow and author of ‘Tough Man, Tender Chicken.’ Mitzi Perdue added that her late husband was a detail-oriented operator and she is often asked questions about his management style. She said his determination enabled him to grow a small family run chicken farm into what is now one of the largest producers in the world. Mitzi Perdue said the company remains under family control, although it is often the object of takeover interest. Finally, she said Frank’s personality – and looks – enabled him to successfully carve out his commercial persona.
