Jared Woodard, Senior Equity Derivatives Strategist and TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino recap a choppy trading week as volatility made a huge comeback in the market. For the trading week ahead, the bond market closes at 1pm ET, equities at 2PM on December 24 and all markets are closed on December 25 in observance of Christmas. Data on tap includes housing and manufacturing, and the only S&P 500 company to report earnings next week is Walgreen. Woodard reviews key historical levels in the VIX, and looking forward to 2015, he believes market volatility may be a bit different than 2014 as new dynamics are present like the oil supply glut, bond yields, interest rate hikes, strength in the U.S. dollar and the impact all of this represent to the equity market.
