A year ago, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) bought the NYSE’s parent company, and now a newspaper over the weekend states change may be in the air. That makes ICE our Chart of the Day. Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), owner of the New York Stock Exchange, will ultimately sell the Big Board, experts tell the New York Post. And that sale could come as soon as next year. ICE bought the big board in 2013 and is now in the middle of overhauling the exchange, both technologically and regulatory wise. The live trading floor has already given way to more technology executing trades. The exchange subsists on listing fees and data services. The NYSE has drafted a proposal to address criticism in response. In the last 52 weeks, the stock has traded as low as $183 in mid-July. It’s risen back up to its highs of $230 something early December.
