An annual report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation listed more than 7,200 hate crimes in 2021, but experts say that the agency’s report undercounted the true total — with only 65% of police agencies nationwide contributing data. “We really have an incomplete picture,” said NBC News Correspondent Ken Dilanian.
