Google has struck a deal with Sprint and T-Mobile to sell wireless service directly to customers but Jim Cramer says that’s not enough of a reason to own these phone carriers. Cramer further says that the deal is not a very aggressive move on Google’s part. If Google were to buy T-Mobile or take a stake in a major wireless company that would be a big difference. But the idea that it’s doing business with T-Mobile and Sprint is not a reason to own either of these carriers. While he’s not interested in owning Sprint or T-Mobile, he says people buy Sprint because of its resurgence in the industry and people buy T-Mobile because of CEO John Legere while investors in Google like the company’s dominance. Cramer says he likes Google and owns it in his Action Alerts PLUS portfolio.
