Microsemi is flat-out cheap compared to its semiconductor competitors, said Bill Hench, Portfolio Manage for the Royce Opportunity Fund. Hench added that Microsemi has a diversified customer base and has reliably hit its forecasts in recent earnings reports. He is also bullish on Dixie Group, saying that the rug producer is a smart play on non-residential construction strength. Hench said Dixie will be able to handle its debt load now that it is entering a busy period. Finally, Hench is positive on shares of Landec because the kale and fresh-food seller has a glowing reputation in a hot sector.
