Second City has a growing corporate training division because Improv comedy teaches vital skills not taught in business schools, said Tom Yorton, author of ‘Yes, And’ and CEO of Second City Works. Yorton added that Improv comedy teaches employees how to listen, read a room, create something from nothing, work as a team and deal appropriately with failure. He said an important tenet of Improv is to ‘follow a follower’ because employees never know who is going to initiate an idea and everybody can’t lead the group. Finally, Yorton explained how Second City co-created a campaign for Clorox that went viral.
