U.S. markets will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day and economic data will be relatively light in the trading week ahead. Key data includes housing and manufacturing. 10% of the S&P reports with a focus on energy and travel. In addition, heavy weight Walmart reports before the market on Thursday. Other key names to watch include Devon, Duke Energy, Noble Energy, Marathon Oil, Garmin, and travel stocks like Marriott and Priceline.com, following Trip Advisor’s report this past Wednesday as profits rose 73% and Expedia’s acquisition of Orbitz. The sell-side analyst conference schedule is light, but look for headlines intraday coming from the Barclay’s Industrial Select Conference. All the big ones will be presenting like UTX, GE, Boeing and Deere.
