Will Oscar’s Best Picture winner see box office gains? Birdman, from Fox’s Searchlight is already out on Video on Demand and comes out Tuesday on DVD. Rentrak says Birdman could make another 9% -17% after winning the top Academy Award. It’s already earned $76 million dollars in global box office receipts. Also 21st Century Fox denies reports that is looking to buy Discovery Communications.Australian Media reported the two were talking about a merger or buyout but now that’s been strongly denied by a Fox Spokesperson. Fox has traded in a tight range all year, closing up Friday by more than 1%.
