European stock indices are mixed ahead of U.S. non-farm payrolls figures that are expected to show the 12th straight increase in jobs outside the agricultural sector. In London tour operator Thomas Cook surges after agreeing to sell a 5% stake to acquisitive Chinese insurer Fosun, which said it wants to build the holding to up to 10% by buying further shares on the market. Weir Group rises on talk of a U.S. private equity bid for the maker of resources-industry equipment, while in Portugal lender BPI gains as its board rejects an offer from Spain’s CaixaBank.
