Countless startups packed up and headed to the annual SXSW Interactive festival in Austin, Texas to gain more visibility and funding. At the Austin Convention Center in the heart of the city, dozens of startups and companies lined the massive exhibit halls to reveal their products or services, akin to a high school science fair. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm took a quick tour and spoke to four promising entrepreneurs. From a wearable ring allowing users to control their home’s lights with a simple hand gesture, to a wristband that vibrates when users walk with poor posture, to ear buds that don’t tangle and a bicycle that rides on water, an eclectic mix of companies stole the show at SXSW.
