Time Warner Cable is expecting to take a big hit from the LA Dodgers. The cable network is expected to lose around $1 billion on the TV rights deal for the Dodgers baseball games, that’s according to the New York Post. West Coast TV distributors are shying away from carrying Time Warner’s SportsNet LA channel which shows the games exclusively. Time Warner has so far failed to persuade rival networks to carry the channel for around $5 per subscriber per month. Critics have said that the price tag is too high. The lack of a deal has left as many as 70 percent of households in Southern California without Dodger’s baseball games.
