U.S. markets fell further at Thursday’s opening bell as factors including tensions in the Middle East weighed on investors’ minds. The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits dropped more than expected last week. Initial claims fell 9,000 to 282,000 according to the Labor Department. McDonald’s (MCD) newly minted CEO will meet with analysts for the first time since taking the top post. Steve Easterbrook was previously the fast food giant’s global chief brand officer. Apple (AAPL) is planning an iPhone trade-in program in China. According to Bloomberg, consumers will be allowed to exchange older iPhones for credit towards products at Apple stores starting March 31.
