It’s possible for anyone to have a credit report. Creating an account only requires one piece of data, so even if you’ve never had debt, you could have an account. Anyone who reports to the credit bureau could set up a file for you using your data.
The three main credit reporting agencies – Equifax, Transunion, and Experian – can gather your data, sell it, and make a profit without your knowledge. Additionally, 52% of credit bureau reports have errors in them. Not only are the bureaus collecting your data and selling it, but the data is often incorrect and requires hours of time to correct. It’s wrong!
