Joe’s Jeans Inc. (JOEZ) is in M&A talks with strategic buyers and private equity firms as part of a wide-ranging strategic review, sources told The Deal’s Senior Reporter Lisa Allen. ‘We’re looking at a variety of strategic alternatives to help the company,’ Evan Tomaskovic, the Carl Marks Advisory Group LLC partner who is advising the company on the review, said in a phone interview. ‘There is an abundance of liquidity in the marketplace looking for returns. Joe’s seems to be attractive and garnering interest from a lot of people who have come to the table to take a look at it,’ he added. An industry source questioned the staying power of denim brands, and asserted that a lot of money has already been poured into that space to the point that it is a crowded segment. Tomaskovic, however, believes the tide is turning when it comes to denim. Lisa Allen has the details from New York.
