Create a ‘Career Savings Account’ and you will never again get stuck in a job you do not like, said Jon Acuff, author of ‘Do Over: Rescue Monday, Reinvent Your Work and Never Get Stuck’. Acuff added that the key to a secure and rewarding career is to develop four key elements: relationships, skills, character and hustle. Once an employee has amplified these elements then he or she can change or improve their careers at any age. For example, 76% of people say they would have fewer than 11 people to send their resume to if they were laid off. Similarly, 63% of people say they do not have a mentor, coach or advocate that they meet with regularly.
