UnitedHealth (UNH) beat earnings estimates and raised its expectations for the rest of the year. The health insurer says revenue grew 13 percent year over year to $36 billion dollars. UnitedHealth added 1.6 million more people in the United States, including 1 million in the first quarter. It said some of its ancilliary businesses performed well like Optim, which is healthcare IT, pharmacy benefits, and other businesses. UnitedHealth also looks to have benefited from the Affordable Care Act. UnitedHealth is a member of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and is set to trade today at an all time high posting results.
