Stocks were hovering just under the flat-line in midday trading Thursday on disappointing housing and jobs figures and a slide in oil, though better-than-expected earnings from UnitedHealth Group (UNH), Citigroup (C) and Netflix (NFLX) helped to limit losses on benchmark indexes. SanDisk (SNDK) was weighing on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. The tech company reported a double-digit slide in quarterly sales as it faces tepid demand for flash-based memory chips. Etsy (ETSY) was having a killer first day on markets, more than doubling its IPO price in its debut on the Nasdaq. At an opening price of around $31 a share, Etsy is now valued at approximately $3.7 billion.
