Jim Cramer is keeping an eye on shares of Chevron (CVX) as the company prepares to post its first quarter results before the market open Friday. Cramer says he was disappointed when Chevron stopped buying its stock back when the stock was much lower. Here it is all the way back to where it was when oil was at about $90. Cramer says he can’t tell investors to buy the stock, all he can do is tell them to listen to it. They do have good production growth coming out of the Gulf of Mexico, he says. But the oil stocks have overrun the price of crude, so Cramer warns investors to be careful. Last quarter, the energy company delivered a positive earnings surprise of about 10 percent.
