Tesla is launching batteries for homes, business and utilities. The company announced last night a $3000 solar charged lithium ion battery for installation in 3 to 4 months. The battery will be made with excess capacity at its plants. Tesla shares have soared 18% in the past month. LinkedIn (LNKD) shares plunged on its weak outlook. It says its performance will come in well below expectations in the next few months. It also cited a delay in implementing Lynda.com, which it bought earlier this year. The CEO of the professional social network did say performance in the quarter was “solid”. Visa’s (V) earnings were flat amid higher expenses. The payments network felt pressure from the strong US dollar and lower gas prices.
